Youn Yuh Jung Wins Oscars for Best Ā Supporting Actress
Youn Yuh Jung won the Best Supporting Actress Award at the Academy Awards on the 26th (KST). She is the first Korean actor and the second Asian actor to achieve the feat. Park Hye Soo Resumes Her Career Again?
Park Hye Soo started filming an independent movie, You and Me (literal title). You and Me is a low-budget film directed by actor Cho Hyun Chul that costs less than 500 million KRW (about $447,080). Park was offered to star in the project when she worked with Cho in the film Samjin Company English Class. Though Park got embroiled in the alleged school violence scandal, she reportedly continued to discuss the movie and prepared for the shooting. IZ*ONE Wraps Up Their Activities
IZONE officially disbanded on the 29th. IZONE was formed on August 31st, 2018, through MnetŌĆÖs Produce 48. However, the group faced a crisis after the Produce seriesŌĆÖ allegations of manipulation turned out to be the truth in 2019. Last November, the Seoul High Court disclosed a list of trainees who were victims of the Produce vote manipulation. Because of it, IZONE temporarily suspended its activities. However, Mnet took the blame and announced their support till April 29th, 2021, when their contract expires. Recently, WIZONEs raised 3 billion KRW (about $2,710,260) for the ŌĆ£group re-launching projectŌĆØ to prevent disbandment.
